Terms of Service for Familex

Effective date: August 13, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Familex (“the app”), a family expense and budget tracking app developed and operated by Mahbub Hasan Talukder ("the developer", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use Familex

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to create an account. If you're using Family Mode with people under that age, you as the account holder are responsible for their access and activity within your family.

2. Your account

3. Family Mode

If you create or join a family, transactions, budgets, and certain profile details you enter become visible to the other members of that family, according to the roles and permissions in place (e.g. admin vs. member). Leaving or being removed from a family stops future sharing but does not retroactively delete data already synced to other members' devices.

4. Your content

You own the financial data, notes, and photos you enter into Familex ("your content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to operate the app for you (and, in Family Mode, for the family members you share it with). You're responsible for making sure you have the right to enter any content you add (e.g. a receipt photo you upload).

5. Acceptable use

Please don't use Familex to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Subscriptions

Familex is currently free to use. We plan to introduce optional paid subscription tiers in the future. When we do, pricing, billing terms, and cancellation will be handled through Google Play Billing and disclosed before you're charged, and these Terms will be updated to reflect them. Using a free tier of the app today does not entitle you to free access to any future paid tier or feature.

7. Third-party services

Familex relies on third-party services to operate — including Supabase (database, storage, authentication), Google Sign-In, and Sentry (crash diagnostics). Your use of those integrations is also subject to their own terms. See our Privacy Policy for details and links.

8. Disclaimers

Familex is a personal budgeting tool, not a financial, tax, or accounting advisor. Nothing in the app is financial advice. You're responsible for verifying your own financial decisions. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) Familex, including loss of data or financial decisions made using information in the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

10. Account & data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and data at any time — see the "Data retention & deletion" section of our Privacy Policy for how.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app changes (e.g. when subscriptions launch). We'll update the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be highlighted in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
